Worldwide Appeal for Donations Issued ATFP Fund to Aid Palestinian Nahr El-Bared Refugees

Washington, D.C., May 25 ? The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) and American Charities for Palestine (ACP) today issued a worldwide appeal for donations to assist the Palestinian refugees affected by the fighting in the Nahr El-Bared refugee camp in north Lebanon. ATFP and ACP have partnered with the United Nations Relief and Works Organization (UNRWA) to direct donated monies specifically to the Nahr El-Bared refugees.

Washington, D.C., May 23, 2007 - The American Task Force for Lebanon (ATFL) and the American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) today expressed support for Lebanon and condemned the ?Fatah al-Islam? group in the Nahr el-Bared Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon for their assault on Lebanese sovereignty, stability and security, and for endangering of the lives of the innocent Palestinian camp refugees. ATFL and ATFP also urged that precautions be taken to minimize civilian casualties and to ensure the safety of innocent Lebanese and Palestinians, in line with international humanitarian law.

Drums of war were beating in early June 1967 in the waning days of my internship at the American University of Beirut hospital. We were excited at the prospect of a just war that would liberate Palestine, allowing those of us who became refugees in 1948 to go back to our homes. The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) is happy to announce the donation of the amount of $100,000.00 to Dar El-Tifl (Home of Children) in Jerusalem. The donation comes from ATFP's Palestine Humanitarian Fund, established to fund Palestinian humanitarian projects in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. Dar El-Tifl is a Palestinian charity established in Jerusalem in 1948 originally to care for Palestinian children who were made orphans.

Washington, D.C., August 2, 2006 -- The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) today announced the donation of $45,000 for Palestinian humanitarian relief, with grants going to Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, St. Luke's Hospital in Nablus, and the Washington, D.C.-based United Palestinian Appeal (UPA). ATFP launched an appeal in May 2006 to collect donations for urgent humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. ATFP will donate all funds it raises from the Palestinian Humanitarian Appeal to medical facilities in the West Bank and Gaza.
