ATFP, APN Launch Joint Internship Program for 2008

Washington, D.C.—The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) and Americans for
Peace Now (APN) today announced the initiation of a new joint internship program that
will offer students a unique perspective of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict – from two leading
advocacy organizations – that spans borders, dispels prejudice, and promotes a two-state solution.
Students who take part in the internship program will divide the term of their internships
between the two organizations. The joint internship program, titled ‘Partners in Peace’, seeks
to identify students interested in exploring the common agenda of the two groups and in
working to advance it.

ATFP is a non-partisan not-for-profit organization that advocates the U.S. interest in the
establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state living alongside Israel in
peace and security.

APN is a Jewish, Zionist organization dedicated to enhancing Israel’s security through peace
and to supporting Israel’s Peace Now movement.

“ATFP and APN represent different constituencies seeking a common goal: a two-state solution to
the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” said Debra DeLee, APN President and CEO. “This joint internship
program gives students a unique opportunity to learn how these two different organizations and
constituencies can work together to achieve the shared goal of Israeli-Palestinian peace.”

“Many Americans often assume that Arab Americans and Jewish Americans are at opposing ends of
advocacy initiatives that seek to influence U.S. policy,” said ATFP Executive Director Rafi
Dajani. “The truth is that there are silent majorities in both communities who share a vision
of Israel and Palestine living at peace. Partners for Peace will give young people a chance to
mobilize these majorities.”

Students interested in applying for the Partners in Peace joint internship program should

include the following required application materials: a cover letter stating why you are interested in pursuing the “Partners in Peace” joint internship program, a resume, current transcript(s), a writing sample, and a minimum of two letters of recommendation. The application deadline for Spring 2008 is November 15, 2007. Although the internship is unpaid, transportation costs incurred traveling to and from ATFP/APN and designated events will be reimbursed. Students must be available to work 40 hours/week.
