Palestinian Authority premier Salam Fayyad said Thursday that the financial crisis besieging his government was set to improve in the next month.
Speaking at the opening of an Andalusian cultural center in Bethlehem, Fayyad said there were "signs" the difficult financial situation would be solved in the next month, after Saudi Arabia donated $100 million to the PA.
The government announced it would pay public sector workers partial December salaries on Sunday. Civil servants have been striking over continued salary delays.
Finance minister Nabil Qassis said Wednesday that Saudi Arabia had pledged $100 million to the PA and that salaries would be paid as soon as the funds were received.
