The Attorney Office of Jerusalem District decided on Sunday to close an investigation against a 13- year-old Jewish settler suspected of hurling a Molotov cocktail at a Palestinian taxi in August 2012.
In a statement obtained by Xinhua, the lawsuit was closed due to "lack of sufficient evidence" which could connect the defendant with the crime.
"As of this moment there is not enough evidence to prove in the required legal standard the identity of the person who committed this offense therefore we have decided not to press charges at present time," the statement read.
"The Jerusalem District Attorney's office will continue to investigate the case," the statement read.
The attack took place last summer near a settlement called Bat Ayin situated at the Gush Etzion bloc of settlements in the West Bank, leaving six family members, including two children, injured with light to moderate wounds.
According to local policemen, the taxi was hit by the Molotov cocktail and then flipped and went ablaze.
Security forces arrested three boys aged 12 and 13 over their alleged involvement, two weeks after the attack.
