Jordan on Tuesday called on the international community to pressure the Israeli government to achieve the two-state solution by the end of September.
Stressing that developments in the region should not deviate attention away from the Palestinian issue, which is the core issue in the region, Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said Tuesday that continued Israeli settlement activities threaten the two-state solution.
In a press conference with Spanish Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez Tuesday, Judeh said the illegal and illegitimate settlement activities prevent the possibility for geographic connection in the Palestinian territories, a matter that is necessary to ensure the creation of a viable Palestinian state.
All unilateral Israeli measures should be stopped, Judeh said during the press conference.
Jimenez voiced support for efforts to revive the stalled Palestinian-Israeli peace talks to find a just solution to the Palestinian issue that leads to the realization of the two-state formula.
