A Palestinian official announced on Wednesday that the Joint Palestinian-European Committee will hold a meeting in Brussels in June to support vital projects in the Palestinian territories.
A preparatory meeting was held Wednesday in the West Bank city of Ramallah, attended by both senior Palestinian and European officials.
Reyad al-Malki, minister of foreign affairs in the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) government, said in a press statement that the two sides agreed to prepare a joint working plan.
"The joint plan aims at helping the Palestinians to end the Israeli military occupation of their territories and help to establish the elements of the independent Palestinian state," said al-Malki.
Al-Malki held talks with Christian Burger, the representative of the European Union Commission in Ramallah, during which both had agreed to meet in Brussels in June.
"Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs will prepare the proposals and the recommendations in coordination with other Palestinian institutions in order to hand them to the European side in June," said al-Malki.
The Palestinian-European cooperation was officially agreed upon in 2008.
