The American Task Force on Palestine is proud to welcome Philip Gordon, Special Assistant to the President and Coordinator for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf, as the keynote speaker for its 10th Anniversary Gala on Oct. 29. Dr. Gordon is the highest-ranking White House official on Middle East affairs under Pres. Barack Obama. This will be the first major public Middle East policy address Dr. Gordon has given since his appointment in March.
In addition to his responsibilities throughout the wider Middle East region, he is a core member of the President and Secretary of State John Kerry’s team responsible for Middle East peace. Prior to joining the National Security Staff, Dr. Gordon -- who has a Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies --served as Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from May 2009 through March 2013.
