Asali addresses The Israel Project
Speech by Ziad Asali at National Press Club - June 20, 2010 - 11:00pm

Dear Jennifer, Thank you and the board and staff of The Israel Project for inviting me to address this distinguished audience. For those of us working here in the United States towards a reasonable and final end of conflict agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, the challenge is more daunting than in most contexts, and the stakes are higher. Those of us who care deeply about peace, Israel, the Palestinians and, above all, our own country, understand that it is our historic mission at this time to spare no effort and to work together towards achieving this crucial goal.

Remarks by Dr. Ziad Asali at the ACP-USAID MOU Signing Ceremony
Speech by Ziad Asali at Point Four Conference Room, USAID Washington, D.C. - July 31, 2008 - 11:00pm

Administrator Fore, our friend George [Laudato USAID Administrator’s Special Assistant for the Middle East], distinguished guests: this is a very special moment for us. The effort to put this agreement together started over six years ago, believe it or not. And it has been an off and on proposition. It accelerated the last one and a half years, under the special and able commitment that Administrator Fore has devoted to this project and we are very delighted that we will at last be sitting here to sign this historic document.

Remarks at the University of Jordan
Speech by Ziad Asali at University of Jordan - March 29, 2008 - 11:00pm

The last few years have witnessed a significant development in US foreign policy regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. In addition to the longstanding strategic US commitment to Israel, the creation of a Palestinian state has now become a constant in the definition of US interests in the Middle East. While previous Administrations have embarked on peace making since the early 90’s, it was only recently recognized that a Palestinian state is not only desirable but necessary.
