Dr. WIlliamson Murray introduces Dr. Peter Mansoor, ATFP Honoree for Distinguished National Service, at ATFP's Fifth Annual Gala, Washington, D.C., October 20, 2010.

It is my distinct pleasure and great honor to be asked to introduce a great American, a great Palestinian American, scholar, soldier, defender of the United States for 26 years.

I first met Cadet Peter Mansoor in 1981, he was a student of mine at Ohio State University for two years where he earned his PhD as well as his Masters degree.

And he has had an exceptional career in the United States Army to include not only the command of a brigade in Baghdad where he played a major role, in dealing with the insurgency, but then was the gatekeeper for General Petraeus during the surge which brought some hope for Iraq.

So let me turn this over to Colonel (Retired) United States Army, Professor Peter Mansoor, the Mason professor at Ohio State University.
