Ramallah - Ma'an - The Palestinian leadership in Ramallah set out a six-point plan in the wake of Israel's attack on the Freedom Flotilla ships Monday morning, involving calls to isolate Israel and investigate the death of at least 10 activists at top levels.

Member at the Fatah Central Committee Mohammed Dahlan said an emergency meeting in Ramallah saw leaders from the PA and the PLO agree to a plan in the face of the military operation, noting that officials "know well how dangerous the situation is," and are prepared to act accordingly.

There was no indication, however, as to whether President Mahmoud Abbas would call of proximity talks with Israel, despite calls from several corners for an immediate freeze.

The six steps were identified as:

1) Send a delegation of PA and PLO officials to Gaza to discuss situation

2) Demand the UN Security Council order an end to the siege on Gaza and initiate an investigation into the attack

3) Coordinate with states whose nationals were killed in the attack to seek justice

4) Meet with the Arab League's secretary-general, Amr Mousa, in an urgent session called for by Abbas

5) Ask the EU to freeze relations with Israel

6) Call on officials in the West Bank including ambassadors, to organize events to mourn the loss of so many supporters of Palestine, and listen to calls from the public to press forward with an inquiry

Dahlah: Fatah movement condemns Israeli attack

Speaking earlier as a Fatah Central Committee member, Mohammad Dahlan said the international community must take serious action immediately to isolate the Netanyahu government.

"The Netanyahu government is convinced that, because of its ability to evade responsibility for the daily violations of Palestinian rights, that it won't be punished for their violations and crimes," Dahlan said, reiterating the Palestinian Authority's call to end inter factional rivalry by demanding Hamas sign the Egyptian-backed unity deal.

The Fatah official praised the efforts of activists on board the Freedom Flotilla and called for further protection for solidarity activists.

Fellow Fatah Central Committee Member Abbas Zaki further urged Arab nations to stand by Palestinians in the face of Israel's "inhumane policy" that led to the killing of 10 activists attempting to break the siege on Gaza.

Zaki said Arab nations should uphold a strong stance opposing the deaths by Israeli forces and call for punishment.
