Israeli forces arrested 14 Palestinians in different parts of the West Bank, reports Wednesday said. The Palestinian prisoners' club said in a press release that three Palestinians were arrested in Arraba and Barqin towns near Jenin.
Israeli forces surrounded a home and forced its Palestinian residents to evacuate it, then held them in the open for several hours, it added. Four other Palestinians were arrested in Al-Izza camp and Al-Obaidiya town in Bethlehem after Israeli forces broke into their homes, it said. Meanwhile, Israel Radio said that seven other Palestinians were held by Israeli forces in Nablus, Al-Khalil (Hebron), and Ramallah, claiming that they were wanted by Israeli security authorities and that they were taken for questioning. Israel arrests tens of Palestinians daily in the West Bank, although it had announced it will release 250 Palestinian prisoners in the next few days as a gesture of good will towards Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The Palestinian ministry of prisoners and the released said that the Palestinian side was not yet notified of the names of the prisoners to be released. According to Israeli sources, the list of those to be freed does not include names of arrested Palestinian women or children nor Palestinians that Israel accuses of killing Israelis.
